Harry Kane is an England international football forward, who currently plays for Premier League side Spurs Hotspur. Known as one of the most creative strikers in the league. Harry Kane has been named as the league’s leading goal-scorer last season. Also regarded as one of the most skilled passers in the England team, Harry Kane has established himself as one of the main players at the heart of Spurs Hotspur’s attacking triumvirate. Harry Kane also captained England during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, scoring two goals in the semi-finals against Brazil.

Harry Kane is a right-footed striker who prefers to play on the right-wing. With his fluid right foot, he is able to play both inside and outside of the left side of the field. A versatile player, he is often deployed as a right-wing-back or as a central striker. Below is a biography of Harry Kane.

Early Life:

He was born on July 28, 1993, in Walthamstow, England, to Patrick Kane and his wife, Kim. His Irish ancestry can be attributed to his father, who is from Galway. Kane has an elder brother, Charlie. After his family relocated to Chingford, Kane studied at the ‘Larkswood Primary Academy’ till 2004. Thereafter, he attended the ‘Chingford Foundation School.
Harry Kane is considered one of the hardest-working players in the squad, not necessarily because he is that hardworking, but more because he has the mentality to always try to do better than his previous efforts. Even when playing in his normal position, he is still trying to improve his performance by training intensely with the aim of improving his overall game performance. Harry Kane is also very patient with his style of play, allowing defenders time to recover, allowing himself plenty of time to shoot.

Club Career:

Tottenham Hotspur F.C. (2009–date):

Kane had a really slow start at the early stage of his career, after playing for a while at a local club, Ridgeway Rovers, Kane played for Arsenal Academy, at the age of eight. He was however dropped by the Academy after one season. Kane’s chubbiness and lack of athletics were the reasons he was dropped. Ex-Arsenal coach, Arsenal Wenger made a statement in 2015 citing his disappointment in Arsenal dropping Kane. Following the disappointment he suffered at Arsenal, he went to Tottenham Hotspur F.C. youth academy, where he was turned down. Kane had to return to Ridgeway Rovers.

The 2018/19 season was an impressive one for Kane and Tottenham as they defied the odds to make it to the UEFA Champions League final, where they lost to EPL rivals, Liverpool. Kane’s ankle injury was seen by many to be one of the reasons the Spurs lost to Liverpool. He began his 2019/20 campaign on a remarkable note, by being the first Spurs player to score in their first match of the league.

Harry Kane’s strengths are his goals. He has scored a lot of goals during his time with Spurs, most of which have come against the top-quality competition. His shooting touch is excellent and he is also capable of scoring headers. Harry Kane’s passing skills are also impressive, as he is capable of completing passes with ease and is rarely caught offside. The biggest knock on Harry Kane is that he sometimes makes mistakes that end up losing the match for the Spurs. Despite this, Harry Kane remains a very popular and respected player in the English Premier League.

Harry Kane’s determination and commitment to the team are admirable, even though he sometimes loses focus and energy during big games. This results in some difficult times for the right midfielder, as he may get too excited and go over the top when winning a match. Harry Kane’s performances so far this season have undoubtedly made him one of the most exciting players in the premier league. He has also impressed Spurs fans with his work rate and desire to win for the club. There is no doubt that Harry Kane will continue to provide Spurs with exciting football.

 International Career:

Kane was first invited to play for the English U-17 National side in January 2010 but couldn’t make it as a result of an illness. Kane was invited to the  2012 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, a tournament he featured in and was key to the English side. He also played in the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He played for the U-21 team in the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification rounds. Kane also went on to represent England in the tournament. Though Kane could switch allegiance to the Republic of Ireland, he opted to play for the English senior team. He played for the English senior side at the  UEFA Euro 2016, the 2018 World Cup, and the inaugural 2019 UEFA Nations League.

Harry Kane’s leadership qualities are what make him so reliable among his teammates. He is a natural leader, willing to take charge in difficult situations, and is not afraid to make unpopular decisions in order to help his team win. During his time with Spurs, Harry Kane has formed very strong partnerships with several other players, such as Gareth Bale, Ledger, and Aaron Lennon. He also has developed a good relationship with Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Spurs, on a personal level as well as on a soccer field.

Personal Life:

Kane is married to his childhood friend, Kate Goodland, whom he began dating when he was 19. The couple both attended the same primary school and have two daughters, Ivy Jane Kane born in 2017, and Vivienne Jane Kane, born in 2018.
