Raheem Sterling is an English football player. He plays as an attacking midfielder and wingback for Premier League top club Manchester City. He has become one of the most beloved players by Manchester City fans in the world, due to his performances on the pitch. Raheem Sterling is currently preparing for the World Cup this summer. In this article, I want to present you with a Raheem Sterling biography. Which I have been using as an inspiration in creating my own Raheem Sterling Biography.
Sterling was born in Southern Ireland in 1990. He started playing football when he was very young in his early years. He was even playing with his father on the field. Raheem began to show great potential as a young boy and was spotted by scouts from Manchester City. Where he was a scholarship. He signed for the Manchester City youth academy in the mid-’90s. During this time he made lots of impressive appearances both on the field and off the field for the youth team. Where he made many appearances as a starter.
Raheem joined the England U-17 team in the autumn of 2021. During the course of that season, he made 17 appearances scoring one goal. This was also the season that he made his first start for the national team and went on to score one goal in four games. Raheem was impressed at right-back where he played both fullback and right-wing.
Raheem left Manchester City in August of 2021 having not impressed the club and they decided to try and get out of him. Despite this, the ever-versatile Sterling still managed to play an excellent ballplayer for Palace. He also formed a partnership with fellow player Mile Migault. Together they formed an attacking trio that helped Palace win the FA Cup final. After winning the trophy he became the club’s greatest ever player. Raheem left Palace after a year to sign for Celtic.
Raheem has since had excellent spells playing for Celtic, Watford, Rangers, and Newcastle. During the current season, he has made five appearances so far scoring one goal. The only worry for the Palace is that he is suspended for the Watford game and therefore unable to play. If he was selected, he would not be able to play with the Scotland side.
Raheem Sterling has also made over 200 appearances for the Scottish international side. Injuries have restricted him to only a few games in the last few months. During this time he has established himself as one of their mainstays in the team providing both goals and assists. He is now only 21 years of age and has already established himself as one of the best young talents in the country. In my opinion, Raheem Sterling will continue to improve and blossom for the rest of his career.
Style of play:
Sterling plays as a winger, attacking midfielder, or striker, though he is more comfortable as a natural winger. Sterling has been praised for his adaptability and ability to play wide. At the tip of a midfield diamond, and centrally, offering flexibility. Known for his pace, low center of gravity, and dribbling skills, Sterling has been compared to Alexis Sánchez by his former manager Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers has also praised him for offering a “real threat,” his use of pace with composure, and his maturity. Despite his small stature, he also possesses considerable upper-body strength, which aids him in withstanding challenges and retaining possession.
Former Barcelona midfielder Xavi said in November 2014 that Sterling is good enough to play for the La Liga club, praising his physical and technical qualities. In April 2015, BBC Sport columnist Phil McNulty wrote that Sterling was “very good with the potential to be outstanding” but remained a “work in progress” due to inconsistent performances. He also wrote, “He is blessed with a natural pace that makes even the best defenses and defenders take a step back.”
In 2013, citing the influence of his mother, Sterling was quoted as saying he was “not 100 percent religious but my belief is strong. When the time is right, I will fully be Christian.” He added that he put his faith in God and that he prays regularly. He has one daughter, Melody Rose, born in 2012 after a brief relationship. His middle name Shaquille comes from his grandmother, who was living in America at the time and wanted to name him after Shaquille O’Neal.
Sterling was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2021 Birthday Honours for services to racial equality in sport.
