The Department of Posts and Telecommunications of Bangladesh has issued instructions to re-register all registered and unregistered mobile phone SIMs in the country. How Airtel, Banglalink, Grameenphone, Robi and Teletalk customers will provide information for SIM registration through SMS: Go to the message option of the mobile and write the SMS like this: Your National Identity Card Number, Date of Birth as per Identity Card, Full Name in English

 

 

 

 

 

Now send SMS to 1600 (free).

How Citycell customers will provide information for SIM registration through SMS: Go to the SMS option of the mobile and type U, write the National Identity Card number in English with a space, write the date of birth according to the identity card with a space, write the full name with a space, and send the message to 1600.

Send to 1600 (Toll Free). You will be informed that your information has been accepted through a return SMS (Your request has been accepted. Thank you for the information). There are also ways to provide information online. In that case, check your mobile operator’s website. Contact your mobile operator (customer care) for details.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Simply sending an SMS will not complete SIM re-registration. After that the SIM information has to be updated with fingerprint as well. Check this post to know about that. Sending SMS was a part of the entire process of SIM registration, which was officially on till 15 November 2015. Now the next steps have to be completed.
